One thing I found very interesting is how many people did not know that a landlord cannot tell you that you cannot own a pet. They are allowed to refuse to rent an apartment to a person who is applying to rent, but once you become a tenant they cannot refuse this right.
Even if there is a section in your lease about you not owning a pet, and you have signed this, that section becomes void. The landlord cannot evict you for this reason, but if your pet is causing problems, they are allowed to apply to the Board to evict you.
