Landlord and Tenant Rights

Your landlord MUST give you at least 24 hours of written notice prior to entering your rental unit, they must also state why they are entering the unit. The only time there would be an exeption to this rule is if you are a border, not a renter.
The following link will explain some of your rights as a tenant and some of your landlords right:

If your landlord has:
- illegally entered your rental unit
- changed the locks without giving you a replacement key
- withheld or interfered with your care services, vital services
- interfered with your resonable enjoyment of the rental unit
- harassed, coerced or threatened you
You should fill out a Form T2. This is an application about tenants rights, and is free of charge:
